Apple plans to produce more iPhones this year, mostly Pro and Pro Max models

In Short

  • The Apple Series 16 is expected to launch on September 10.
  • Apple plans to produce 37% of the Pro Max models.
  • The 16+ unit production is only 6%.

The Apple’s 16 series is expected to come out in September, but I’m not sure the report is correct or not. However, the recent report revealed Apple’s production plans. As per the report, the OEM will be producing approx. 90 million iPhones, which is more than last year’s production of 86.2 million.

Meanwhile, Apple plans to produce more PRO Max variants, which will be approx. 33.2 million units, which makes 37% of the total production. While last year’s production of the iPhone 15 Pro Max models was approximately 24 million

The regular iPhone Pro models are expected to be approx. 26 million, which is 30% of the total production and also more than last year’s production of 21.8 million pro units.

The non-pro variants will be 33% of the total iPhone production. Apple will produce the standard iPhone 16 from 21.5 million to 24.5 million, which makes 27% of total production. However, the 16 plus units will be 5.8 million only (6%), which means the plus variants production is less than last year’s 15 plus production, which was 8.5 million.

However, the plans may change according to the demand, and also, it seems the plus variant demand is decreasing per year, so may Apple change the plus variant to any other iPhone variant in the upcoming time. Meanwhile, the demand for the Pro Max variant is increasing by the time, so that’s why Apple will produce the Pro Max variant more than the other variants.
