Recently, Qualcomm launched the new Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC with Oryan CPU cores. The oryon CPU cores were clocked at 4.32 GHz (2 cores) and 3.53 GHz (6 cores). The CPU is packed with 24 MB of L2 cache that is split into 12 MB for the performance cores and 12 MB for the prime cores and supports LPDDR5X 5,300MHz RAM.

The new SoC features TSMC’s 3nm process and promises 45-50% improvement in CPU performance and boosts 44% in power efficiency compared to its predecessor. On the graphics side, the chipset comes with a debuting Qualcomm revamped Adreno GPU, which ensures a 40% boost in performance, power saving, and improved ray-tracing performance.
On the other side, Qualcomm’s new SoC is the first mobile chip that supports the Nanite virtualized geometry system and Unreal Engine 5.3. It also has a new NPU, which ensures to run45% faster AI tasks with boosted per-watt performance. The multimodal models run up to 70 tokens on SLMs.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite offers Snapdragon X80 5G modem. This is the first 5G modem that comes with AI-based mmWave range extension and 6x downlink carrier aggregation. The company claims that the SoC peak download is rated at 10 Gbps and the upload rated at 3.5 Gbps.

Qualcomm’s latest SoC features an ISP that is entirely unify with the new hexagon NPU. It has added video semantic segmentation, chip-level photo, and video object eraser support. You also get improved HDR, sky colours, boosted autofocus performance, and natural-looking skin tones.
The New Chipset is packed with the Fast Connect 7600 mobile connectivity system, and it is also the first chipset that combines Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, and ultra-wideband connectivity in a 6 nm single chip.
The upcoming smartphone flagships from OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Samsung, Vivo, Xiaomi, and other Android flagships will come with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset.
